Pre-launch · iOS & Apple Watch

Fuel is a training variable.
Stop guessing when to eat.

ReFuel tracks your real-time energy balance — calories burned vs. calories consumed — during every run, ride, or triathlon, then tells you exactly when to take a gel, reach for your bottle, or pop a salt tab.

Most calorie apps are food diaries.
Most workout apps ignore nutrition.

ReFuel sits at the intersection — a performance platform that treats fueling as a training variable, not an afterthought. Built for serious endurance athletes who want to know not just how they're performing, but why — and what to eat, and when.

iPhone — the brain

Planning, food logging, energy analysis, training load history, and structured workout building.

Apple Watch — the dashboard

Reads from iPhone, displays what matters mid-session, fires haptic fueling alerts at the right moment.

See ReFuel in Action

From planning your fueling to tracking your progress — every screen built for endurance athletes.

ReFuel workout screen showing session start and ReFuel button
ReFuel planner screen for configuring fueling metrics
ReFuel route planner screen with elevation and terrain analysis
ReFuel dashboard screen showing athlete readiness and training load
ReFuel history screen showing all-time bests and recent sessions

Key Features

Real-Time Fueling Engine

Calorie burn calculated live from heart rate, pace, and sport type, with a glycogen depletion model per sport and intensity zone.

Fuel Plan Builder

Program session nutrition before you start. GU, Maurten, Naäk, SaltStick, Nuun, Precision Hydration — pre-loaded profiles, custom entry supported.

Energy Balance Graph

Live red/green area chart of calorie surplus vs. deficit, with fueling alert markers pinned at the moment of each intake.

Training Load Dashboard

LTL, STL, and SRB — fitness, fatigue, and form — inspired by popular performance management philosophy.

Watch UI

Customisable, outdoor-legible data grid. Screen tint shifts functionally: green (fueled) → amber (attention) → red (act now).

RED-S Awareness

Tracks energy availability across sessions and flags chronic under-fueling patterns for review with your coach.

Built for Your Sport

Nine launch sport modes, each with a tuned calorie model and carb protocol.

Run
Trail Run
Bike
Mountain Bike
Triathlon
Nordic Ski
Ski Mountaineering
Hike
Walk/Warm-up/Cool-down

Route-Aware Planning

Import a GPX route and get a terrain- and elevation-adjusted calorie burn estimate for your sport, intensity, and body mass.

Weather-Adjusted Targets

Live heat index and humidity automatically bump your carb, hydration, and sodium targets — with a manual override when you need it.

Scheduled Fueling Timeline

Auto-fill or drag-and-drop gels, drinks, and salt tabs onto a session timeline, tuned to each sport's carb protocol range.

Tuned to How Your Body Fuels

A short metabolic profile personalizes every calculation — no two athletes burn fuel the same way.

Carb- vs. Fat-Adapted

Tell ReFuel whether you eat a mixed/standard diet, low-carb, or keto/fat-adapted — it shifts your carb dependency and fat-burning crossover point accordingly.

Training Background

New to endurance, some experience, or highly trained — plus how long you've been fat-adapted, if applicable — refines your fueling ceiling.

Training Habits

Let ReFuel know whether you already train with carbs, so recommendations match habits you've built rather than a generic protocol.

RED-S is a performance issue, not just a health issue.

Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-S) is a serious risk for endurance athletes who chronically under-fuel relative to training load. ReFuel tracks energy availability across sessions — not just individual workouts — and flags patterns firmly, evidence-based, never alarmist.

“Your energy availability has been low 4 of the last 7 days.”

Your Data Stays Yours

No account, no server, no data collection. ReFuel is built to run entirely on your device.

No Account Required

Open the app and start training. There's no sign-up, no login, and no account to manage. But don't worry — you can still connect Strava and share your workouts to show off.

On-Device Only

Your workouts, fuel plans, and metabolic data are stored locally on your phone — never uploaded to a server. If you enable iCloud sync, it's backed up privately to your own account, not ours.

Apple Health Integration

ReFuel reads and writes workout, heart rate, and pace data with Apple Health to power its calculations. If other apps you use — like calorie counters — sync into Health too, ReFuel can read that data as well.
